A radio broadcaster, Olalekan Ayobami and former student of Lisabi Grammar School, Abeokuta has honoured his former teacher Adekunle Fagbule who he said discovered him to take broadcasting as profession
Penpushing reports that, Ayobami, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Ebunoro Media International Concept bestowed the award of appreciation to the former teacher while retiring from the Ogun State Teaching Service Commission.
The broadcaster who could not hide his joy for a successful civil service career of Fagbule recalled that, he discovered him 28 years ago, and has no regret of taking broadcast as a profession
Penpushing further reports that, Ayobami while speaking at Ketu College (Junior) Igan -Alade in Yewa North local government area of the state, where Fagbule retired as a Principal, described his former teacher as his ‘god’, who deserves to be honoured having imparted positively to his life
The Chairman, Parents Teachers Association (PTA) of the college Hon.Opeifa in his remarks spoke about the feats of the retiree, adding that he was able to unite the association with the teachers.
Penpushing also reports that, Opeifa pointed out that, in the same vein, Fagbule facilitated the posting of five teachers to complement efforts of those already on ground, and introduced sporting activities for the benefits of the students.
The Chairman added that, the retired Principal facilitated the building of a befitting Principal’s office for the school, adding that he is a known God-fearing person, who take welfare of students and their education as paramount
Penpushing reports that, the retiree and awardee in his response thanked God for sparing his life for 35 years, as a civil servant, and attaining the position of a Principal before his retirement, and also expressed appreciation for honour bestowed on him by his former student
The former Principal who described his feats as God’s grace also encouraged teachers in the service to be Godly, always be prayerful and show passion and commitment towards the teaching profession
