Transport employers’ association collaborates with Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta for peace development studies programme

The Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) Ogun State Chapter has made intention known to collaborate with the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), with a focus on the Peace and Development Studies Programme.

Penpushing reports the proposed collaboration through the Institute for Communication and General Studies (ICGNS) of the university was brought to limelight during meeting the association held with the university authority.

The Secretary of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) Comrade Tiwalade Akingbade, speaking on behalf of the body reaffirmed the association’s readiness to participate in the forthcoming 3-Day Conflict Resolution Programme

Penpushing further reports that Akingbade who thanked the university management for the warm reception, disclosed that 40 members had already indicated interest, with more expected to join.

The well-educated scribe of the association emphasized that the association and members believe in peace; pointing out that where there is peace, the body can grow in business and uphold social contract.

Penpushing also reports that the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, while addressing the association gave commendation for identifying with the university’s training initiatives.

The Vice Chancellor who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Olawale Dairo described the visit as a commendable step towards strengthening institutional collaboration for societal development.

“The transport sector is a very demanding one that requires a high level of expertise and resilience. Partnering with FUNAAB is an excellent decision that you will never regret’, he stated.

Penpushing reports that the Vice-Chancellor assured the team of the University’s commitment to providing impactful and practical training that aligns with Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN’s) vision for peace and professional growth.

The Director of Institute for Communication and General Studies (ICGNS), Prof. Remi Aduradola, in his remarks described the association as special people projecting the true spirit of what the university stands for, an institution deeply engaged in building unity and fostering peace behind the scenes.

Penpushing further reports that the Director of Institute for Communication and General Studies expressed optimism that the emerging partnership would bring out the best in the association and university

The Programme Leader, Peace and Development Studies, Institute for Communication and General Studies (ICGNS), in contribution appreciated the members of the association for their proactive engagement and understanding of the university’s value proposition, adding that a follow-up meeting would soon be convened for the association to further outline its contributions to the collaboration.

Penpushing also reports that present at the meeting were the Registrar, Dr. Titus Adeniyi; Bursar, Mr. Olukayode Osinuga; Deputy Registrar, Executive Affairs, Office of the Vice-Chancellor, Mr. Moses Ayanda, other top officials of ICGNS; and senior officers of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN).
