The Nigeria High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, His Excellency Alhaji Sarafa Tunji Ishola has called on Nigerians in Diaspora to find ways of coming together to devise methods of giving back to their homeland

Penpushing reports that Ishola made the call while hosting some Nigerian professionals, voluntary groups and executive members of a Leadership Initiative Organisation at Abuja House in the United Kingdom.

The Ambassador while stressing that government does not have the wherewithal to do it all, he advised the group to think of how to be of help in complimenting whatever the government is providing for the citizens.

Penpushing further reports that he added that by volunteering their expertise in related fields of endeavours as well as engaging in humanitarian services back home, more value will be added to life of the Nigerian citizenry and country at large

The contributions from some of those present the open house discussion, summarised that policies, programs and ideas that would further be of great worth to people should be put in place by those saddled with the mantle of leadership.

Penpushing also reports that they posited that local technological and scientific adaptations to peculiar challenges back home could be developed with inputs from them to ensure all round development in due course.

They appealed to those elected into political offices to deliver on their campaign promises to the electorate, stating that this will assist in the development of the country better than if done by independent individuals in the diaspora.

Penpushing reports that dignitaries present at the dinner include Mrs Bola Obasanjo, wife of the former president of Nigeria, Oba Olufemi Ogunleye (Towulade of Akinale) and his Olori, Bishop Olusesi Obateye (LEIC), Pastor Wole Dosumu (Nigeria Union of Journalists/ Nigeria Institute of Public Relations member) and other professionals of Nigerian origin in the Diaspora in fields such as banking, education, health and construction.
