The controversial legal practitioner Festus Keyamo has sued the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, over a new corruption allegation against him, after he had earlier issued a 72-hour ultimatum to three anti-graft agencies to arrest Atiku over corruption allegations.

Penpushing reports that the agency he wrote on January 16,2023  to pick the Presidential Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) of the alleged corruption  include: Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission (ICPC), and the Conduct of Conduct Bureau (CCB).

The lawyer, a known rabble rouser, who is  spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council, in a petition dated 16 January, asked the anti-graft agencies to arrest the former vice president on offences of money laundering, breach of the Code of Conduct Act, conspiracy, and criminal breach of trust and misappropriation.

Penpushing further reports that Keyamo anchored his suit on the allegations made by Michael Achimugu, who claimed to be a former aide to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate.

The former aide, it is recalled that in  a series of social media posts, accused  the Presidential Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in the forthcoming February poll of using Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV) to commit financial fraud.

Penpushing also reports that Keyamo, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), stated that Achimugu provided substantial evidence to corroborate his allegations against Atiku candidate and former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

The serving Minister of State for Labour and Employment, however, on Friday filed his suit at the Federal High Court in Abuja seeking an order compelling Atiku to surrender himself to Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission (ICPC), and the Conduct of Conduct Bureau (CCB).

Penpushing reports that Keyamo also sought an order compelling the agencies to arrest and prosecute Atiku, while he joined Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission (ICPC), and the Conduct of Conduct Bureau (CCB) in the suit reference number suit FHC/ABJ/CS/84/2023 as defendants.
