Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has commended the International Coordinator of Priesthood Leadership Development Initiative Inc (PLDI)/ Leadership Empowerment International Conference (LEIC), Prof Olusesi Obateye for his commitment towards giving back to the society through programme encouraging individuals on relevance of contributing to nation -building.
Penpushing reports that Obasanjo gave the commendation on Saturday at the Leadership Empowerment International Conference organized by the Priesthood Leadership Development Initiative (PLDI) held in Abeokuta.
The former President pointed out that Obateye is noted to be doing good and great work for the development, growth and progress within the community, nation, continent and world at large.
Penpushing further reports that he encouraged Obateye and his team not to relent in their efforts, pointing out that identifying committed individuals annually for awards was to spur them in contributing positively towards developmental growth
‘I will not stop thanking Professor Obateye because you are doing what needs to be done for development, growth and progress within our community, within our nation and indeed within our continent. And please, never get tired’, he stated.
‘You have chosen your Awardee well, none of them is weak, none of them is tired. Every awardee today, having read their profile, I keep shaking my head, he has made them contribute to development and they will keep making contribution to development’, Obasanjo added.
‘Let me say just few words. When I was coming back from the village, because I was late, I asked if the conference and celebration is still on and I was told its still on. So, I asked myself what should I say and I decided within myself to talk on the six important essential items for development, growth, and progress’, he stated.
‘I urge the convener and all of you to continue to contribute to the development of the country. Ones again I congratulate the awardees and particularly Prof. Obateye, may God continue to bless you’, Obasanjo emphasized
