The much awaited Eddy Aina Annual Dialogue was on Monday launched in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital, a programme which concise with launch of the first wireless radio station in Nigeria, Odua 99.9FM, and 10th year anniversary of Coded Media.
Penpushing reports that the ceremony with the theme, ’Social Media’s Incursion into Global Communication Space: Is Overbearing, Is The Demise of Radio And Television Imminent?” attracted number of media executives, as well as other stakeholders in the media industry in the country
The lecture was delivered by Prof Jendele Hungbo of Bowen University, Iwo, while the panelists include Prof Helen Bodunde, Deaconess Funke Fadugba, Dare Folarin,Bolatito Joseph, Sade Adebimpe and Nkechi Blessing Sunday
Penpushing further reports that, the introduction of the annual lecture was the brainchild of a private radio station, Oodua 99.9 FM, located in Abeokuta, in honour of the veteran journalist and editorial board member of the Penpushing media
The Chairman Editorial Board of Penpushing media, Funke Fadugba led some other members which include: Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji, Barrister Benjamin Ogunmodede, Barrister Demola Badejo, Oluremi Olugbenro, Desmond Nwachukwu, Toyin Sogbesan, Fatai Akinbola, Ayo Arowojolu, Dr Goke Rauf, Samson Akindele, Alhaji Sefiu Opebiyi, Alhaji Waheed Adesina Tunde Adeyemo, Ibiyemi Ajadi and Sina Adefolahan to grace the occasion.
Penpushing also reports that, other notable personalities at the colourful event are: Dupe Oladimeji, Laide Sanni, Alhaji Lai Labode, Akin Okudero, Ola Animasaun, Wale Bakare,Dele Ayodo and Emmanuel Bankole among others
The Group Chairman, Ojulowo Omoluwabi Empire Holdings Limited owner of Odua FM, Dr Victor Eniola Mark in his speech explained that, the choice of Aina, was based on his fruitful contributions to journalism
Penpushing reports that, the management noted that, it is best to celebrate and give honour to whom it is due, while still alive rather than bestow honour in absentia, hence, it was resolved that, Aina ,veteran broadcaster, journalist, regulator, media administrator and social commentator, who is a mentor to many and an exemplary leader deserves to be honoured
The Company boss emphasized that, the dialogue, which is the initiative of the first wireless radio station in Nigeria has been designed to be yearly lecture, and expressed appreciation to all guests who grace the ceremony
