The Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun state council, Soji Amosu has died on Sunday at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abeokuta after brief illness, and in view of the sad development the council has declared seven- day mourning in honour of the deceased.
Penpushing reports that, the death was described as shocking and devastating and a collective grief to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), with prayers that God, in His infinite mercies, grant all members of the union and his immediate family members the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The late Amosu until his death was an Assistant Director with the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Ogun State, and a graduate of mass communication from the Ogun State Polytechnic, now Moshood Abeiola Polytecnic(MAPOLY) Abeokuta
Penpushing further reports that, a condolence register has been open at the secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Press Centre, Iwe-Iroyin House located at Oke-Ilewo area of Abeokuta, the state capital
The family in a statement announced the burial arrangement that a Christian wake keep/night of tribute is scheduled to hold on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Press Centre Iwe-Iroyin hall by 4pm,and lying-in-state at same venue on Friday between 8-9am
Penpushing also reports that, the statement added that burial service will take place at Antioch Baptist Church, Akorede community, off Lambo junction, Surulere, Bode Olude, Abeokuta, while interment take place at his private residence in Bode-Olude community in Abeokuta
