The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, who is seeking for a second term in office has challenge his critics to come and learn how to dance from him, boasting that dancing was part of his personality and a hobby he enjoyed.
Penpushing reports that Adeleke stated this on Tuesday while speaking at the town hall meeting organised by a television station for candidates contesting the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election.
The governor who was defending his penchant for dancing, explained that it his hobby which does not interfere with his responsibilities as governor, as he seeks a second term in office, stressing that his family comprises of jolly good fellows
“If they can’t dance, I can teach them how to dance. I dance because in my family, we are jolly good fellows. As I am dancing, I am working. There is time for everything, there is time to dance, and there is time to work. Dancing does not stop me from working. I have delivered across all sectors. Dancing is a hobby. That does not affect my work. My people love me”, Adeleke said.
Penpushing further reports that it would be recalled that Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo recently criticised Adeleke’s dancing habit and mocked him during an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rally in Osun State where he urged voters to reject what he described as the “dancing governor.”
The governor, however, described himself as a “prudent worker,” adding that he had delivered projects across various sectors despite his public displays of dancing, insisting that those offended by his dancing should learn to dance, stressing that the activity had not affected his performance in office.
Penpushing also reports that the governor added that his people appreciated his personality and maintained that dancing remained only a hobby, and defending his administration’s performance, said his government had constructed and rehabilitated roads across the state, adding that solar-powered streetlights had been installed along some of the roads.
“As I’m speaking to you, I did not only build roads across Osun, I installed them with solar lights. This we did to provide security and enhance economic development. As of today, we have upgraded and rehabilitated over 200 primary healthcare facilities to global standards, equipped with electricity and clean water’, he said.
