The Secretary to Ekiti State Government, Biodun Oyebanji has resigned his appointment, to enable him contest the forth-coming governorship election in the state, a confirmation to earlier speculations that he (Oyebanji) is interested for the exalted position.
Penpushing reports that the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, Yinka Oyebode made this known in a statement on Tuesday adding that the Governor had accepted the resignation.
The statement explained that the resignation which was conveyed in a letter to the Governor and dated December 3, took effect from Tuesday, December 7, and thanked him for his remarkable contribution to his administration.
Penpushing further reports that, Oyebode added that Governor Fayemi in the statement wished Oyebanji, a former university lecturer, who had previously served as Chief of Staff during the administration of former Governor Niyi Adebayo, well in his future endeavours
The outgoing scribe was also the commissioner for budget and economic planning during Fayemi’s first term and secretary of the movement for creation of Ekiti who is known to have played significant roles leading to the creation of the state 25 years ago.
