The former Governor of Osun State Rauf Aregbesola has boasted that he has not had sexual relations with any woman other than his wife, Sherifat, since their marriage, explaining that his faithfulness to his wife was part of a personal commitment he made to God.
Penpushing reports that Aregbesola fondly called Baba Kabiru was quoted to have made the declaration while speaking at African Democratic Congress (ADC) campaign rally in Ejigbo Local Government Area of Osun State ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election.

Penpushing further reports that, Aregbesola, who is the National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) told party supporters that although such a claim might be difficult for many men to make, insisting that he had remained faithful to his wife because of his devotion to God.
The declaration of the former Interior Minister came as political parties intensified campaigns across Osun state ahead of the governorship election scheduled to hold on Saturday across the state.
Penpushing also reports that governorship candidates at the poll include incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, (AP) who is seeking a second term, as well as Bola Oyebamiji of All Progressives Congress (APC), and Najeem Folasayo Salaam of African Democratic Congress (ADC).
