Family members, friends, traditional rulers and dignitaries on Thursday joined Olori Yetunde Tejuoso, wife of Osile Oke-Ona Egba, Oba (Dr). Adedapo Tejuoso, Karunwi III, Oranmiyan, to celebrate her 70th birthday.
Penpushing reports that the celebration featured a thanksgiving service held at the African Church Cathedral of St. James, Idi-Ape, Abeokuta, followed by a reception at the Marquee Events Centre, Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta.
The gathering brought together prominent personalities, which include Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo; former Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Olu of Orile-Imo, Oba Oluwambe Sogaolu and Nigeria’s former Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Ishola
Penpushing further reports that others include former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Pastor (Dr) Tunde Lemo; General Overseer of Victory Life Bible Church, Apostle Lawrence Achudume; and Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Oladipupo Adebutu, among others.
The General Overseer of Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC), Apostle Lawrence Achudume, described the celebrator as a wonderful, friendly and compassionate woman who has dedicated herself to helping others, stressing that she had demonstrated that leadership and influence could be used to reach people who may otherwise be unable to access opportunities and support.
Penpushing also reports that he said Olori was a bridge-builder who connected people and reached out to those who were less privileged, adding that her compassion for vulnerable people was one of the qualities he admired most about her,
The cleric added that she had partnered with his late wife in reaching out to people in villages, orphans and widows, particularly those affected by crises in Northern Nigeria, stressing that her willingness to use her position to assist people who could not easily access opportunities demonstrated true leadership and compassion
Penpushing reports that Achudume prayed that God would strengthen the celebrator, preserve her health and grant her many more years filled with His goodness, and equally highlighted her contribution to the growth of the church, which she showed by donating N500,000 to the church choir department in support of its anniversary.
The clergyman prayed for divine strength and wisdom for her as she enters another phase of life, while urging her to remain calm and collected in dealing with life’s challenges.
Penpushing further reports that the former Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, on his part described her as a humble, loving, generous and down-to-earth woman, noting that he had known her for more than two decades.
The former governor said her personality was consistent with the principle that “what you see is what you get,” adding that many people who had spoken about her had testified to her good character.
Penpushing also reports that Amosun pointed out that we can only continue to pray for her and wish her many happy years, praying and emphasizing that her tomorrow will be better than her yesterday.
The former governor recalled celebrating with the Olori when she marked her 60th birthday, expressing hope that family and friends would also gather to celebrate her 80th and 90th birthdays.
Penpushing reports that family members, friends and well-wishers in same vein praised God for Olori’s life and celebrated her contributions to the church, community and the less privileged.
The 70-year-old celebrator in her votes of thank expressed appreciation to her family, friends, well-wishers and guests for making the milestone celebration memorable, and specifically appreciated her husband for his love, patience and support through the years, as well as her sisters, children and grandchildren for their contributions to the success of the celebration.
Penpushing further reports that the Ijesan born Olori emphasised that when she saw number of guests and the church, as well as reception venue filled to capacity, her joy doubled, expressing gratitude to all those who came to celebrate with her.
