Two American soldiers have been confirmed killed, while another is currently listed as missing and four others were injured in the Iranian strikes on an American military base in Jordan.
Penpushing reports that the Use Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Saturday, however, stated that as at the time of filing this report the injured have been successfully treated
“On July 17, two U.S. service members in Jordan were killed in action as U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) and partner forces defended against Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks. Additionally, one service member is currently missing,” CENTCOM wrote on X.
“Four American service members were medically evacuated to Jordanian hospitals. They have since been discharged. Other personnel who were evaluated for minor injuries have returned to duty’, it added.
“Out of respect for the families, CENTCOM will withhold additional information, including the identities of the fallen warriors, until 24 hours after the next of kin have been notified’, the statement stated
Penpushing further reports that CENTCOM earlier announced that the United States of America (USA) carried out strikes on Friday night for the seventh consecutive night in a row, while Iran has continued to target American bases in the Gulf in retaliation for American strikes on Iran.
Meanwhile, apart from targeting Iranian military facilities, the United States of America (USA) has also targeted and damaged civilian facilities like bridges and water facilities in Iran.
