A self-styled Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo popularly called ‘Sunday Igboho’ has predicted that there won’t be election in South-West of Nigeria, come 2023, boasting that instead Yoruba nation would have been in existence.
Penpushing reports that, Igboho made this known during a Yoruba Nation rally, where participants called for a break away from the country, a rally which took place in Osogbo, Osun State Capital
The Yoruba nation leading agitator, pointed out that many South-West Governors are interested in the existence of Yoruba nation, but could not openly make public pronouncement on that, having being scared about their monthly allocation which could be terminated by the President Muhammed Buhari led administration.
“There is no election again in Yorubaland until we have a Yoruba nation. Those in authority initially thought we were joking when we demanded an independent Yoruba nation.I can’t be cowed or intimidated. They said I would be arrested. Who would dare do that? We are no longer part of Nigeria. We won’t have anything to do with them again,” he said.
“All our governors are with us. From Oyo, Ogun and Ondo to Ekiti, Lagos and Osun, they are supporting us, but they can’t do it openly. Allocation they give them in Abuja may stop if they do it openly. So, don’t abuse them again. Governor Oyetola was informed I will be in Osun and he allowed us to come here. All our monarchs are with us”, he added
Penpushing further reports that, the known fearless Yoruba warlord, speaking tough at the rally ground however, declared that he would revolt against stakeholders who failed to support his cause.
Meanwhile, as at the time of filing this report, efforts to reach Osun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola, for response to Igboho claims was unsuccessful.
