A pastor of the Power in the Word of God for the World Ministry in Oron, Akwa Ibom State, has been suspected to have allegedly committed suicide amid widespread on social media speculation
Penpushing reports that the report has it that the incident occurred on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at the church premises located on Etim Inyang Street, Oron Local Government Area of the state.
The videos circulating on social media showed the deceased’s body being removed from the church by suspected members of the congregation, however, in another video, the body, wrapped in cloth, was seen inside a police pickup truck belonging to the Oron Area Command.
Penpushing further reports that as at the time of filing this report the circumstances surrounding the pastor’s death remain unclear, while claims circulating on social media that the pastor died by suicide could not be verified
The Akwa Ibom State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Timfon John, was yet to respond nor issue any official statement on the controversial incident as at the time of filing this report.
