Five people were allegedly killed during a dispute over control and takeover of the motorpark around the Naira and Kobo Garage in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State

Penpushing reports that sources said victims include three commercial bus drivers and two passersby, adding that a confrontation broke out at the Naira and Kobo Garage after some individuals allegedly attempted to take control of the facility.

The Osun State Police Command Public Relations Officer Abiodun Ojelabi, confirmed the shooting, however, said they were still gathering information before confirming whether there were casualties.

Penpushing further reports that disputes are rooted in the prolonged contest over who should control Osun state transport garages, with major rival political parties, Accord Party (AP) and All Progressives Congress (APC), laying competing claims to the union leadership.
