The African Child, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) has concluded arrangements for talk show on Television and radio stations which is aimed at complimenting the efforts of stakeholders in child development in Nigeria and beyond

Penpushing reports that, the project initiator and renowned child right advocate, Kola Obadimu(jnr) made this known while speaking with journalists ahead of the production scheduled to the transmitted in number of radio and television stations.

‘In the continent of Africa, little or no attention is paid to the plight of the African Child. Stakeholders and policy makers make frantic efforts to create awareness on the existence of the future leaders but these efforts often yield minor impact’, he said.

Penpushing further reports that, Obadimu noted that African child is unseen, unheard and practically invisible explained that the programme tagged, ‘African Child’, is a thirty minutes talk show in which topical and stimulating issues are discussed by the children.

‘An African Child is unseen, unheard, and practically invisible! AFRICAN CHILD, the 30-minute TV talk show aims at complimenting the efforts of stakeholders in child development, thus making a strong point that, children of today are indeed Leaders of tomorrow”.

The award winning Nigerian playwright explained that the production which include series known as Morountodun, is  30-minute Yoruba serial drama, based on the story of a widow, who is being subjected to psychological and dehumanizing situations after the demise of her husband.

Penpushing also reports that, Obadmu who described the play as a much watch for every family explained in the synopsis said the widow in-laws took over the deceased property leaving the woman in penury.

‘Morountodun, the 30-minute Yoruba serial drama, is based on the story of a widow, who is being subjected to psychological and dehumanizing situations after the demise of her husband. Her in-laws took over the deceased property leaving the woman in penury’.

The Child Rights activist added that, children will be selected as participants of the show, and will be gathered for the production at the studio, before it is being aired to the entire world for consumption by the general public for the betterment of the society
