The Ibadan Golf Club has concluded arrangements to honour a foremost Egba High Chief, Chief Bode Mustapha with Diamond Award.
Penpushing reports that,this was made known in a statement jointly signed by Captain of the club, Ola Ibironke and Moses Ojo Chairman, 30th Anniversary Planning Committee of the club.
The club in a letter sent to Mustapha who is the Osi of Egbaland, said, the recipient is being honoured for his remarkable personal achievements and the life-serving dedication to the growth and development of sporting Golf in Nigeria, particularly Ibadan Golf Club.
“Money is no good unless it contributes something to the community, unless it builds a bridge to a better life. Any man can make money, but it takes a special kind of man to use it responsibly’, the statement reads.
”To mark the 30th Anniversary of Ibadan Golf Club, we honour your remarkable personal achievements and the life-serving dedication to the growth and development of sporting Golf in Nigeria, particularly Ibadan Golf Club’, the club emphasised.
‘Sir, it will make no news to friends and foes alike if we say it in the open that your invaluable contributions to the game of Golf can be equated to building the well-being of the nation’, the letter added.
‘The efforts you so admirably represent. Now therefore sir, we are pleased, by the authority vested in us by the Board of Trustees, the Executive Committee and the entire members of the Ibadan Golf Club, to confer upon you, with all the rights, privilege, and immunities persisting thereto, hers and elsewhere, the IGC Diamond Award for your direct contributions to the development of golf in Nigeria and Ibadan Golf Club in particular.
Penpushing further reports that, the letter with reference number R IGC/NA/21/261 dated 5th June, 2021 disclosed that, the award ceremony will take place during a uniquely organized dinner night titled, ‘IGC Nite of Honour” on on July 3, 2021 at World Lilies Event Center, Queens School road, Apata, Ibadan by 5pm
