The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun on Tuesday donated two new vehicles comprising an official car and Hilux Pick-up security van for the use by the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Abeokuta, as well as Navy authority respectively.
Penpushing reports that, Abiodun made the donations and presentation after the Nigerian Navy officials led by the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Western Naval Command; Rear Admiral Jasson Gbassa paid him a courtesy call in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
The Flag Officer Commanding(FOC); earlier in his speech had requested for support from the state government in the provision of security vehicle for the Nigerian Navy, as well as an official car for the Commandant of the College located in Abeokuta, among other things.
Penpushing further reports that, the Governor in response, amazed the guests as he immediately gave approval for the release of the two vehicles, and shortly after the courtesy visit, the Governor personally handed over the vehicles and the keys to the Naval boss.
The Governor while handing over the vehicles to the leadership of the Nigerian Navy affirmed that the donated vehicles were brand new ones, and not ‘Tokunbo’, types of vehicles, and called on the authorities for judicious use of the vehicles
Penpushing also reports that, Abiodun at the brief ceremony said his administration will continued to partner with all security agencies in the state, in ensuring the safety of lives and properties in the state and environs, boasting Ogun State is the most peaceful in the country
‘We want to collaborate with Navy on security in riverine areas. We need maritime security. This mark a turning point in relationship between government and Navy, to who much is given, much is expected. We pay attention to security in the state, and the Navy is key. We shall continued to give necessary support to all security agencies’, he emphasised
Penpushing reports that, the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), in his response expressed appreciation to the Abiodun led administration, adding that the Governor had proved to be a man of his words and action.
