The Chief of Staff to the Ogun State Governor, Dr. Oluwatoyin Taiwo has called on members of the Ogun State Executive Council to work together as a team and give maximum support to the administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun.

Penpushing reports that Taiwo made the call on Sunday during a special thanksgiving service in appreciation of his elevation as the Chief of Staff and the appointment of Dr. (Mrs.) Funke Oyeneye as the Executive Secretary of the Ogun State Drug and Health Commodities Management Agency (OGDHMA) at the Ogun State Government House Chapel, Oke-Igbein, Abeokuta.

The Chief of Staff in same vein appealed to members of the State Executive Council (SEC) to always bring to the attention of the government any shortcomings, emphasising that the task ahead is a collective one, just as he appreciated the Governor for finding him worthy of the elevation, noting that it is an opportunity for him to continue to do more.

“You are to advise us; you are to see what the government could not see and bring it to the attention of the government. By doing so, it is going to be teamwork.

“I thank God for the privilege. It is an opportunity to serve; it is not a right. It is not because I am the most qualified or competent; it is just an opportunity to serve and do more. I want to thank His Excellency for giving me this privilege, and I want to encourage members of the cabinet to work together as a team. Anywhere you see any shortcomings, call us so that we can correct them”, he said.

“I want to appreciate Governor Dapo Abiodun for counting me worthy of this highly exalted position. I remember the second day of the announcement, I was with the Governor to thank him. He told me that it is not an office of thanksgiving but an office of work and that I earned it and I need to do more”, Taiwo added

“In terms of the state, you know we have the ‘ISEYA’ mantra. We want to say it physically, spiritually, and morally. I am going to be there to make a good mark and support him in every way. The Governor is a man that is ready to work; he gives his all to the service of the state. So, we as his aides should be ready to key into that vision and actualize it,” he said.

Penpushing further reports that he acknowledged the permanent secretaries in the state public service for their support, noting that they have been of immense help to the present administration.

The cleric at the service, Rev Williams Ojo in his message titled “Appreciating God’s Grace,” and reading from Psalm 103, Verse 1, pointed out that children of God should at all times recognize the goodness in their lives and also show gratitude at all times.

Penpushing also reports that the clergyman urged Taiwo and Oyeneye to seek wisdom from God, prioritize integrity, and serve the people of the state, while wife of the chief of staff, Peace Taiwo in her remarks described the elevation of her husband as a thing of joy, referring to him as a wonderful person, a loving and caring husband who, despite his very tight schedule, creates time for his family.

The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide in his remarks urged the Chapel to continue to reach out to the assembly whenever they have programs, even as he announced a cash donation to the Chapel.

Penpushing also reports that in separate interviews, the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Tunji Ogunlami, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hazmat, and the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Sesan Fagbayi described the Chief of Staff as an enigma and a focused and dedicated public servant, whom they described as loyal and very truthful.
