The Head of Protocol with Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC), Barrister Kamil Abolade has emerged as new chairman of Nigerian Bar Association,(NBA) Abeokuta chapter after a free and fair conducted election on Wednesday
Penpushing reports that, the inauguration of Abolade and other executives which include: Tosin Adeyemi Taiwo(General Secretary). Moshood Nosiru Assistant General Secretar) Ogunsanwo Gani(Treasurer) Kehinde Taiwo (Publicity Secretary), Omirin Babatunde (Welfare Secretary), Olanrewaju Oluwaseyi(Social Secretary) and Abass Nurudeen(Legal Adviser) took place at the association’s state headquarters along Moshood Abiola way, Abeokuta
The chairman who is to lead affairs of the association for the next two years in his acceptance speech urged the members to be in unity towards the administration in ensuring positive changes in the association .
“Like I said in during my campaign, we are going to unite all members of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Abeokuta, because we discovered that before now, there has been disunity among members, and we are going to ensure that all factions come together and we maintain united body so we can be able achieve our programs”,he assured.
“One of our program is to look after the welfare of our members, we know that some of our members are not being well taken care of, we are going to ensure that, that is done, so people don’t just take us for granted, and they will know that lawyers should occupy a particular position that will make the society to really respect them’, he added.
“We are also going to have program like organising seminars, workshop, symposium for members so we can continue to learn and be able do the work we are appointed to do”,Abolade emphasised.
Penpushing further reports that, he charged the members for cooperation and always be punctual whenever the meeting is called on and never to hesitate to raise issues whenever the need arises, assuring that there will be room for constructive criticism, stressing that cooperation is very paramount.
