Two suspects have been arrested by the police following the violent murder of social media influencer, Ibrahim Khalil, at his residence in Gaida Quarters, Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State.
Penpushing reports that the Kano State Police Command Public Relations Officer Abdullahi Kiyawa made this known in a statement, recalling that Khalil, also known as Danshagamu, was attacked with sharp objects after hoodlums forced their way into his home on Monday at 11:30 p.m.
The statement said officers from the Kumbotso Police Division responded after receiving a distress call from the commander of the quarters vigilante group, adding that upon arriving at the scene, police officers rushed the victim to the hospital
“Upon arriving at the scene, police officers rushed the severely injured victim to the Murtala Mohammad Specialist Hospital in Kano for emergency medical care, where he was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician’, he said.
Penpushing further reports that Kiyawa said an investigation later led to the arrest of the two suspects, adding that the suspects were subsequently arrested and in custody as at the time of filing this report
“The suspects are currently in custody undergoing interrogation. The Kano State Police Command will not relent in its mandate to protect lives and property. We assure the good people of Kano that justice will be pursued to its logical conclusion,” the commissioner warned’, Kiyawa stated.
Penpushing also reports that he said the police have intensified search efforts to track down the accomplices in the incident, adding that the authorities have deployed patrol units and intelligence personnel throughout Gaida and adjacent communities to uphold public safety.
