The Sarkin Yakin Zazzau (Leader of infantry), Rilwan Pate has been reported dead after slumping at a public function in Zaria, while his remains were buried on Thursday at the Rimin Gado Cemetery in Zaria amid tears and tributes from sympathisers.
Penpushing reports that a statement by the emirate spokesperson, Aliyu Kwarbai explained that Pate, a former councilor in charge of Health-Related Matters was rushed to the Gambo Sawaba Hospital where he was confirmed dead.
The Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Bamalli who was at the events described the deceased as a hardworking, dedicated, and devout individual whose loss would be deeply felt within the emirate, and prayed for the soul of the departed to find eternal peace.
Penpushing further reports that mourners throgned to his residence on Thursday to offer condolences to his grieving family, and among the early callers was Mohammed Shehu, chairman of Kubau Local Government.
