The Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has secured 11 million votes in the presidential primary of All Progressives Congress (APC) to emerge as the party’s presidential candidate ahead of 2027 general elections.
Penpushing reports that the results, of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the country showed that Tinubu secured 10.99 million votes to defeat his fellow aspirant Stanley Osifo who polled 16,504 votes, during the presidential primary election held across 8,809 wards nationwide.
The Governors of 31 states, alongside other senior party figures serving as state coordinators and collation officers, presented the outcomes of the direct primaries to the Presidential Primary Election Committee headed by former Senate President Pius Anyim.
Penpushing further reports that the results announced at the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja, showed that in the South-West, Tinubu recorded commanding victories in key states considered strongholds of the party.
The President he polled 814,988 votes in Lagos, 322,485 in Ogun, 181,996 in Ondo, 142,754 in Oyo, 100,888 in Osun, and 85,340 votes in Ekiti state respectively, while Osifo struggled only marginal figures in the zone, including 1,186 votes in Lagos and 929 votes in Oyo state, while recording zero votes in several states.
Penpushing also reports that Kaduna state produced one of the highest figures with 618,914 votes for Tinubu, while Kano state returned 500,852 votes, and polled 467,003 votes in Katsina state, while in Gombe state recorded 450,517.
The President in Kebbi State, polled 292,972, in Sokoto state recorded 301,000, and Zamfara state produced added 321,579 votes, while in Kwara state polled 310,990 votes, as well as 285,436 in Nasarawa state, and in Plateau state reccorded, 241,720, with Kogi state producing 197,370.
Penpushing also reports that Tinubu secured 175,487 votes in Niger state, and 374,787 votes in Benue state, while at Federal Capital Territory (FCT) recorded 36,103, and Imo state produced 582,960 votes, 383,382 in Enugu state, 207,579 in Ebonyi state, 161,005 in Abia state, and 43,034 in Anambra state.
The President polled 407,646 votes in Delta state, 389,197 in Akwa Ibom state, 280,082 in Rivers state, and 227,192 in Bayelsa state, while at end of collation, he emerged with a total of 10,999,967 votes, while Osifo garnered 16,504 votes nationwide.
