Three Nigerian family members feared dead in  helicopter crash in America

Three Nigerians who are members of a family comprising husband, wife and son have been feared dead in a helicopter that crashed near the California-Nevada border. in the United States of America (USA) on Saturday

Penpushing reports that the feared dead include Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings, Herbert Wigwe, his wife, and son, while as at the time of filing this report Access Holdings, owners of Access Bank are yet to confirm the incident

The Federal Aviation Administration, however, disclosed that the Eurocopter EC130 helicopter crashed around 10 p.m local time near Nipton, Calif, an unincorporated community approximately 60 miles south of Las Vegas in eastern San Bernardino County,

Penpushing further reports that sources disclosed that a total of six people were in the helicopter, adding that as at the time of filing this report no survivors have been located, while people close to Wigwe said the banker, his wife and son were among the passengers in the helicopter.

The Public Information Officer San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department affirmed notification of the crash at 10:12 p.m. local time, adding that the crash site was located east of Interstate 15, near Halloran Springs Road.

Penpushing also reports that sources explained that the ill-fated Flight N130CZ, operated by Orbic Air LLC, took off from Palm Springs, California, at 8:45 pm but was last seen near Fort Irwin/Barstow, California, at 21:49 pm, Friday.

The exact cause of the crash was yet unknown, while the National Transportation Safety Board (N.T.S.B.) and Federal Aviation Administration (F.A.A.) are investigating the crash, while representatives from the National Transportation Safety Board (N.T.S.B.) are expected to arrive at the scene on Saturday.
