PR Primus celebrates 10th anniversary, confers awards on 10 iconic Nigerians, imortalise lai osho

PR Primus, a renowned public relations establishment has conferred awards of honour to ten iconic Nigerians, at a ceremony which was part of activities to mark ten anniversary lecture of the organization, held in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.

Penpushing reports that the theme of the anniversary lecture was on the role of Public Relations in Promotion of Arts, Culture and Tourism delivered by Prince Yemisi Shyllon, a descendant of Sapara Williams, Nigeria’s first indigenous lawyer.

The Board of the company was equally inaugurated, as well as the launch of the tenth anniversary edition of “PR Primus Magazine” at the well packaged and attended ceremony, where Olowu of Owu, Oba (Prof) Saka Matemilola was the Chairman of the day.

Penpushing further reports that Ogun State Governor, Prince ‘Dapo Abiodun was as the Special Guest of Honour represented by the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism Dr Fagbayi and the Commissioner for Women Affairs Adijat Adeleye

The Managing Director, PR Primus Limited, Akin Okudero in his welcome speech explained that the company is the producer of “Your Image”, a PR programme on the channels of OGTV on both terrestrial and cable services in conjunction with the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

Penpushing also reports that the company boss added that the journey of ten years was replete with expected challenges new brands would face, however, thanked God for His immense benevolence and provision.

The Managing Director emphasized that the struggle has turned out a story of success today, and the  .PR PRIMUS through Ogun State Television(OGTV) had collaborated in pioneering the first wholly packaged PR  programme in Africa.

‘With this noble goal, we have enriched knowledge, research, and practice of public relations. The programme provides platforms for all professionals to interface and develop a new, strategies, and skills that have impacted in promoting understanding of how PR can engender success for all stakeholders’, he added.

Penpushing reports that Okudero pointed out that it was encouraging that the essence of Public Relations is now entrenching a new normal in business, corporate governance, and national development.

‘This programme will be repacked soon to incorporate BRANDS and other segments that will grow veritable sectors of Nigeria’s economic landscape, thus stepping the nation out for greater image and enterprise’, he stated.

Penpushing further reports that he disclosed that value-added personalities and corporate governance magnets who are committed to providing cutting edge standards in reputation management, corporate governance, and business development are to be honoured.

‘In the same vein, we are continuing with the goal of immortalizing Professor Lai Oso-the Communication Scholar and Engineer Lanre Bisiriyu-former Head of Service, Ogun State, who over the years had been of great support to many in pursuit of education and growth of individuals’, Okudero said

‘The PR PRIMUS MAGAZINE is a pride of the profession, hence the need to sustain the publication and internationalise it for global participation and enriching. With your unflinching support, we shall succeed in our noble goal of accomplishing professionalism and excellence’, he added.

Penpushing also reports that the awardees include High Chief Bode Mustapha, (Osi of Egbaland), Prof Adewale Musa-Olomu (Chief Medical Director, Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta), Tope Adaramola (Executive Secretary, Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers), and Dr Rafiu Adekola Soyele(Provost, Federal College of Education, Abeokuta)

The others are Alhaji Bashir Adewale Adeniyi (Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs), Ambassador Babatunde Adeyemo (Managing Director Pelican Valley), Director and TAIDOB College, Abeokuta, while empowerment schemes for late Professor Lai Oso and Engr. Lanre Bisiriyu was part of the events as grants were received by beneficiaries.
