Police parade 15 suspected armed robbers, kidnappers in Ogun state

The Ogun Police Command has paraded 15 suspects arrested for various criminal offences which include armed robbery, kidnapping and murder, adding that the alleged robbery suspects had snatched a Toyota Corolla.

Penpushing reports that, Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole who paraded the suspects at Police headquarters Eleweran, Abeokuta, added that command operatives busted them and arrested five, while others fled.

.The Commissioner of Police, said the suspects were arrested during various operations across the state, and gave identities of the suspected armed robbers as include: Morufu Abiodun, Fisayo Aliu, Usman Adeyemi, Duada Lekan and Afeez Adesina,

Penpushing further reports that, Bankole disclosed that in a related development the operatives   arrested Sulaimon Mohammed and Jato Bello, for alleged kidnapping which include two siblings, Esther and David Kehinde who were abducted at Ayetoro.

The Commissioner said the command apprehended Chidi Samuel and Paul Zakari for alleged murder, adding that the suspects are co – founder of a Christian Fellowship Group, “Life Builders Network”

Penpushing also reports that, he explained that the suspects had taken about seven youths to an isolated area in Oyan village, a suburb of Imala town for a “Bible study and fellowship”, adding that one of the youths fell ill and thereafter died.

The police boss said the parents of the deceased had earlier reported to the police, adding that in the course of investigation, it was uncovered that the suspects had buried the corpse in a shallow grave.

Penpushing reports that, Bankole emphasized that the command will ensure it fight crimes and criminals to standstill in the state, by providing adequate security of life and property across the state.

“The command wants to reiterate its commitment in ensuring adequate security of life and property. We are not going to leave any stone unturned in riding the state of the crime and criminality’, he stated.

“To this end, I hereby enjoin the good people of the gateway state to partner with the command to carry out this onerous task, by giving us necessary information that will assist us in chasing out the criminal within us,” Bankole said.

Penpushing further reports that during the parade, some exhibits recovered from the suspects as displayed include one dane gun, one locally made pistol, one locally made single barrel gun, Toyota Corolla marked GGE733FL among others.
