A Police Inspector Adamu Isah, attached to the Department of Operations of Sokoto State Command has been reported dead after he collapsed shortly after participating in the command’s weekly walkathon exercise.
Penpushing reports that Sokoto State Police Command Public Relations Officer Ahmad Rufa’i confirmed this in a statement explaining that the sad incident occurred on Wednesday, when he suddenly collapsed
The police spokesperson in a statement issued on Thursday stated that the officer was immediately rushed to hospital for medical attention, but didn’t survive, hence, Doctors later confirmed his death.
Penpushing further reports that, Commissioner of Police, Hayatu Shaffa, reacting to the incident described Isah’s death as a painful loss to the command and condoled with his family, colleagues and friends.
“The Sokoto State Police Command is deeply saddened by the sudden and painful loss of our colleague, Inspector Adamu Isah. He was a dedicated and gallant officer who served his fatherland with unwavering commitment and professionalism,” Shaffa said.
Penpushing also reports that the police boss pointed out that the deceased was equally actively involved in sports, describing him as a member of the command’s volleyball team and a boxer, adding that his energy, discipline, and team spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The Commissioner described the deceased as a disciplined officer who contributed significantly to the operations of the command, assuring his family that the police would provide the necessary support.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his immediate family during this difficult time. We pray that the Almighty God grants them the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” he added.
Penpushing reports that Shaffa urged personnel of the command to remain steadfast and take solace in the deceased’s years of service to the nation, while praying for the peaceful repose of his soul.
