The Ogun State Police Command has begun manhunt for an alleged notorious chief and 10 other suspected hoodlums over alleged threat to life of Mrs. Abosede Funmilayo Jegede who lives in Sabo area of Sagamu.

Penpushing reports that, the Divisional Police Office embarked on the search of the suspects following a complaint lodged by the woman that Chief Adeyemi Abidoye allegedly invaded her home with 10 others and threatened her over failure to produce her sister and his alleged lover, Simiat Adeyanju.

The letter explaining the search for the suspects exclusively obtained by Penpushing stated that, the Divisional Police Officer, Agunbiade Okikiolu, said that following this threat, detectives have been deployed to apprehend Abidoye and his alleged accomplices.

Penpushing further reports that Okikiolu, a Chief Superintendent of Police in the letter added that Abidoye had planned to forcefully marry Simiat, who had fled into hiding following the community chief’s threat that failure to heed his demand would be disastrous for her.

“On 11th September, 2020, one Jegede Abosede Funmilayo ‘f’ came to the station at about 1400hrs and reported that one Adeyemi Abidoye ‘m’ from notorious Ijagba Area Sagamu forcefully entered into her compound at above address at an odd hour, with his cohorts numbering about ten demanding for the whereabouts of Smiat Adeyanju ‘f’,” the officer said in the letter dated April 9, 2021 and titled Interim Police Investigation Report, Re: Case of Conspiracy and Threat to Life.

Penpushing also reports that, the Divisional Police Officer explained that the hoodlums, who accompanied Abidoye, “were armed with dangerous weapons like short locally made pistol, cutlasses and criminal charms.”

“She also added that they vehemently told her that she should relocate from her house and all her kindred or they will all be wiped out without further delay”. The letter reads

The police officer declared that the intelligence team had began aggressive patrol of Jegede’s premises since the incident to protect her, while stating that no arrest had been made, but that “investigation still in progress.”

Penpushing reports that, Okikiolu stressed that all hands were “still on the deck towards possible arrest of the criminal elements. It is also pertinent to advice the complainant to be security conscious by relocating to alternative residence or city, with her relatives, particularly Simiat Adeyanju ‘f’ and avoid night movements as police intensify investigation in searching for the culprits”, the letter emphasised
