The disowned Director-General of the alleged non-existent Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), Adeniyi Adeyemi has been arrested on Tuesday by the Nigerian Police Force.
Penpushing reports that the Force Public Relations Officer Anietie Iniedu confirmed the arrest of Adeyemi which came hours after Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja issued a warrant for his arrest following an oral application by the prosecution lawyer, Wisdom Madaki.
The development followed Adeyemi’s failure to appear in court for his scheduled arraignment on charges regarding the activities of the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC),
Penpushing further reports that the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has earlier ordered the arrest of Adeyemi after he failed to appear for his scheduled arraignment on charges regarding the activities of the fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).
The Judge Mohammed Umar gave the order on Tuesday and issued the warrant for the defendant’s arrest following an oral application by the prosecution, however, waved away Adeyemi’s lawyer excuse for his client’s absence to issue the arrest order.
Penpushing also reports that the lawyer of Adeyemi told the court that his client was absent from court because he feared for his life and that he had written a letter to President Bola Tinubu regarding it, stressing that he (Adeyemi) intended to stay alive to face his trial
The judge not swayed by the assertions, declared to the defence lawyer that the court would help his client to be alive, and thereafter, issued a bench warrant for Adeyemi’s arrest, and subsequently set September 30, 2026 as the new date for defendant’s arraignment.
