A prominent member of Penpushing platform, Dr Toyin Adeyemi has welcomed son’s wife in a colourful wedding held in the heart of Lagos State which attracted number of dignitaries and guests across the globe.
Penpushing reports that, the two day ceremony between Olawunmi and Oluwayomi, beamed live by online television crew of Penpushing media was held on Friday 28th October and Saturday 29TH October 2022 respectively.
The first stage of the events was traditional wedding engagement held on Friday at the Youth Church, Hoarse’s Memorial Methodist Cathedral, located at Herbert Macaulay Way, Sabo, Lagos State, which was well attended by the families and relatives of the couple
Penpushing reports that parents of the couple were seen in joyous mood throughout over three hours ceremony which include presentation of required wedding items, unveiling of the new bride, who was also beaming with smiles as she majestically walked straight to join her hubby at the specially prepared settee for them.
The anchor of the ceremony known as ‘Alaga Iduro’, with local drummers were not left out at the colourful traditional wedding engagement, as they were busy adding glamour to the ceremony with qualitative competence
Penpushing further reports that the families of the couple, Adeyemi and Wickliffe in unison agreed to the relationship of their children and showered prayers on them for successful permanent relationship, with the first phase of the event was rounded off with reception.
The train for second phase of the ceremony which was the solemnization of holy matrimony of Olawunmi and Oluwayomi was moved to Methodist Church Nigeria Diocese of Lagos Minland, Yaba Circuit Hoarde’s Memorial Methodist Church, Yaba, Lagos State on Saturday, October 29, 2022.
Penpushing also reports that, the 2-hours service started 10.00am and had in attendance number of Clergymen and Cathedral Ministers, as well as Presbyter and Minister to conduct the well packaged service.
The order of service for the event include processional hymn, declaration of purpose, collect of purity, collect of integrity, legal declaration, declaration of intent, the marriage, affirmation by the families and affirmation by the congregation.
Penpushing reports that other service are; marriage vows, exchange of rings, proclamation of marriage, ministry of the word, scripture reading, sermon, thanksgiving, benediction, introduction of couple and recessional hymn
The couple during presentation of the wedding rings declared that the rings were sign of their marriage, and honoured themselves with their bodies, and all that have shared with themselves, with love of Almighty God
‘I give you this ring as a sign of our marriage. With my body I honour you, all that I am I give you and all that I have I share with you, within the love of God, the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit’, the couple assured themselves individually
Penpushing reports that, thereafter the parents and the couple signed the marriage register to sealed the relationship, which therefore paved way for issuance of marriage certificate for the new couple who are both products of University of Lagos.
The ceremony as sealed and signed by the relevant authorities was later moved to the basement hall of the church for reception, which was equally well organized, and had in attendance all well-wishers who came to grace the occasion.
Penpushing further reports that, as the reception, parents of the bride were first to be ushered in with melodious music, followed by parents of the groom, while the celebrators of the day, the couple was received with standing ovation by guests as joyously danced into the hall
The programme was kicked started with opening prayers followed with other activities which include: introduction and recognition of guests, entertainment of guests, chairman’s speech, cutting of cake, couple outfit change, toast, couple dance, couple and parents dance
