A member of Penpushing platform Alhaji Waheed Kadiri has been honoured by the School of Environmental Studies (SENVS), of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) Abeokuta, with a 387-page book of 24 chapters with 6 themes/sections book of readings
Penpushing reports that the book of readings titled “Towards the Attainment of Sustainable Environment’, was launched in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital with number of dignitaries led by Rector of the institution Dr. Adekoyejo Jolaoso who was the chief host at the occasion, as well as academia, industry professional groups/associations, organized public and private sectors in attendance.
The Rector who doubles as lead editor and Chairman Planning Committee of the event in his welcome speech described the celebrant who was also former rector of the polytechnic as a trail blazer whose mentorship traits is unequalled, as well as an enigma, a pacesetter astute administrator and an international icon.
Penpushing further reports that he emphasised that Kadiri, a former National President of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners has unique qualities that are worthy of studying and adoption for robust, sustainable, people-centred built environments development, who has a living legend should be honour while still alive.
The Rector pointed out that Kadiri’s achievements are remarkable while his enduring excellent visionary legacy are committed to shaping the future of the built environment, submitting that his scholarly contributions to the academic and the built industry cannot be over-emphasized adding that they represent all the wonderful research works compiled.
Penpushing also reports that the Chairman of the occasion, Dr. Ayodele Aderinwale charged professional bodies to uphold ethics as a core value to move the Nigeria forward, saying that Alhaji Waheed Kadiri is a builder of men and institution.
The Chairman described Kadiri as a personified humility of positive values and a man that is not looking for validation because he is internally validated, while reviewer of the book, Muyiwa Agunbiade pointed out that the book is a vital resource for professionals, academics and policy makers committed to sustainable
Penpushing further reports that Kadiri in response expressed optimism of positive changes in the affairs of the Polytechnic and Nigeria saying the future appears brighter, and appreciated all and sundry for the successful packaging of the event which was aimed at sustaining and maintaining the glorious legacies of scholars, justifying his being honoured.
