A frontline member of Penpushing platform Hon Remmy Hazzan has been professionally inducted as fellowship member of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV) held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Penpushing reports that Hazzan, a former Deputy Speaker Ogun State House of Assembly was among top Nigerians, which include Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio who on their parts  received Honorary membership  on Friday, February 21,2025 at the venue.

The event was attended by distinguished guests, including the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, Council members, Past Presidents, Fellows and members of the Institution among others.

Penpushing further reports Akpabio speaking at the ceremony said for those honoured, it showed that it is a testament that there are values they hold dear—the values of service, excellence, and unwavering dedication to building a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria.

‘For over five decades, the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers has stood as a beacon of professionalism, integrity, and nation-building. You are the silent architects of Nigeria’s urban transformation, the custodians of our nation’s physical wealth, and the guardians of the principles that sustain our economy—accountability, due process, and strategic planning’, he said.

Penpushing also reports that Akpabio pointed out that the institution works ensures that cities are well-planned, investments are secured, and future is built on a solid foundation, stressing that without the body skylines of some cities would remain concepts, not realities.

‘Without you, the skylines of Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt would remain concepts, not realities. Without you, businesses would struggle to find the confidence to invest, and without you, the dream of homeownership for many Nigerians would remain just that—a dream.’

Penpushing reports that he stated that the recognition is not just a celebration of what has been done, but a call to action for what must be done, adding that it is a charge to lead with renewed vigor, to continue to fight for policies that will make housing more affordable, land administration more transparent, and infrastructure more sustainable.

The Senate President added that it is a call to ensure that Nigeria’s land and property assets are managed with the efficiency, integrity, and foresight that will secure our economic future.

‘To my brothers and sisters in the real estate and valuation profession, I say—your work is critical to Nigeria’s development. All must align with the vision of a Nigeria where economic growth is not just a statistic, but a reality that uplifts every citizen.

Penpushing further reports that the 31st edition of the memorial lecture of the Founding President and Chairman of Council of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, (ESV) JohnWood Ekpenyong, explained that the yearly lecture, which is a testament to the cherished service rendered by the council.

The 24th President of the Institution, Emmanuel Okas Wike was the Guest Speaker at the event which provided another huge opportunity to interrogate issues affecting the economic development of Nigeria.

Penpushing also reports that he spoke extensively and expressly on the theme of the lecture, which is ‘Repositioning Tenement Rate For Economic Development’, and equally extolled the sterling qualities of the 1st President of the council with a plea to all to emulate him.

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu was represented by Barrister Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, with other dignitaries which include Alhaji (Dr.) Umaru Abdul Mutallab, (Father of the Day), Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Olu of Ilaro, and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland and Oba Kehinde Olugbenle
