A member of Penpushing platform, resident in United States of America (USA) Abiola Sogaolu has launched establishment of Austim Centre to cater for the educational and medical support of individuals with autism and other related medical challenges.
Penpushing reports that Sogaolu flew in from America to commence the take-off of project which is to be sited in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital, his hometown and to serve as the headquarters of the establishment to be known as Lighthouse Autism Center.
The launch held on Thursday was part of activities marking his 60th birthday anniversary and had in attendance over 100 young individuals, with autism accompanied by their families, while in similar vein number of less privileged were not left out at the ceremony.
Penpushing further reports that Sogaolu in his welcome speech explained that the mission of the project is to provide comprehensive, compassionate, and innovative services, tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals with autism and their families.
“Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed guests, families, and individuals with autism, today marks a significant milestone in our journey to support and empower individuals with autism. It is my honor to welcome you to the official launch of Lighthouse Autism Center!”, Sogaolu stated
“Our mission is to provide comprehensive, compassionate, and innovative services, tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals with autism and their families. At Lighthouse Autism Center, we believe every individual with autism deserves respect, dignity and personalized support, early intervention and continuous learning foster growth and development, as well as family engagement and community involvement are vital to success”, he added.
Penpushing also reports that the initiator of the project disclosed that the Centre will offer evidence-based therapies, expert diagnostics, educational programs, support groups and recreational activities, emphasizing that the management will strive to create a nurturing environment where individuals with autism can thrive, grow and shine!
The founder of the Centre explained that other objectives include enhancing social, emotional and cognitive development in children Austin Spectrum Disorder (ASD), provide expert diagnosis and assessment, offer personalized therapy and support, empower parents through education and community building and foster independence and school readiness
Penpushing reports that the initiator emphasized that services offered are applied bahaviour analysis, autism diagnostic services, speech therapy, care giver support, respite services, skill acquisition programmes.
The benefits he said include comprehensive care under one roof, expert team of professionals, personalized treatment plans, supportive community and improved outcome for children with Austin Spectrum Disorder
Penpushing further reports that he commended the team he described as dedicated and equally thanked generous supporters, as well as to the autism community for the trust on the project, just as he called on stakeholders to join the management in illuminating pathways and empowering lives.
