The Ogun State Police Command has apprehended two suspects allegedly involved in kidnapping and murder in Edo State, a significant breakthrough in an ongoing kidnapping and murder investigation by the command.
Penpushing reports that the Command Public Relations Officer Oluseyi Babaseyi who confirmed explained that the two suspects, believed to be connected to the heinous crime, were successfully apprehended in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, through a meticulously executed intelligence-driven operation.
The command’s spokesperson, in a statement explained that the diligent efforts of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit led to the apprehension of the suspects in the Atiba area of Ijebu-Ode town.
Penpushing further reports that Babaseyi emphasized that while the alleged offenses were committed outside the jurisdiction of Ogun State, the suspects and the recovered exhibits will be promptly transferred to the Edo State Police Command.
The police image maker in the statement added that this will facilitate additional investigation and ensure that appropriate legal actions are pursued, adding that the Commissioner of Police for Ogun State, Bode Ojajuni has lauded the professionalism and unwavering diligence displayed by the operatives involved in this critical investigation.
Penpushing also reports that the statement said Ojajuni reiterated the command’s firm resolve to prevent Ogun State from becoming a haven or transit point for criminal elements, and equally assured residents that the command remains committed to deploying intelligence-led policing strategies and fostering stronger collaborations with other security agencies to enhance public safety across the state.
‘The public is urged to remain vigilant and continue providing credible information to security agencies, thereby supporting ongoing efforts to combat crime and maintain peace within communities’, Babaseyi wrote.
