The Lagos State Police Command has arrested the Afrobeats singer, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley for interrogation over the controversial death of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad.
Penpushing reports the Command Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin made this known late Tuesday, which was an update on the demise of the 27-year-old musician, but was silence on other details
The suspect who is expected to assist the police in their investigation into the death of Mohbad has been accused of having a hand in the sad incident, and in reaction Naira Marley vowed to clear his name and had before the police’s statement confirmed his arrival in Nigeria to help the probe into his former signee’s demise.
“I’d like to share that I’ve just arrived back in Lagos, Nigeria to assist the authorities with the ongoing investigation. It’s important I do my part for Imole. I’ll be meeting with the police with hopes for the truth to be uncovered and for justice to prevail’, he tweeted
Penpushing further reports that it is recalled that the death of Mohbad thousands of his fans across the globe have demanded an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death, with protests in several parts of Nigeria and Canada.
The late youth Nigerian musician, it is recalled was buried less than two days after he died, and following agitation by people to get to the root of the death, police authorities exhumed his remains, and conducted autopsy which result is still being awaited.as at the time of filing this report
