The Miyyeti Allah in Oyo state on Wednesday urged the state government and the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi to dethrone the embattled Seriki Fulani of the state, Chief Saliu Kadiri
Penpushing reports that, the immediate past chairman of Miyyeti Allah, Alhaj Yakubu Bello made the call at a press briefing following the meeting held to discuss issues affecting Fulani community in the state,
The association declared that allegations against the embattled Seriki Fulani who was recently chased out of his Igangan residence by some aggrieved youths led by, a Yoruba self-acclaimed activist, Sunday Adeyemo popularly called Sunday Igboho, is affecting the good names of the Fulani community in Oyo state.
Penpushing further reports that, Kadiri was chased out from the community following his alleged involvement in kidnapping and other unlawful activities in the area, hence, his kinsmen asked the Alaafin of Oyo and the state government to replace him with a trusted, tested and integrity personality among Fulani community.
“Our actions was as a result of various allegations leveled against Seriki Fulani in Oyo state. You are aware he was allegedly involved in kidnapping, banditry an armed robbery. This has affected our image. It has affected good reputation of many of us living peacefully in the state’.
“We have to bring back our good name in Oyo state, therefore, we must not allow such people to lead us, we vehemently condemned those derogatory statement against our people and we can no longer accept it,” he said.
Penpushing also reports that the embattled Kadiri in reactions to the call of his kinsmen and allegations described it as fallacy, urging the state government and the Alaafin of Oyo to ignore them.
“I am still around in the state. They are only finding a way to destroy the name of Alaafin. Those people supported Igboho to destroy my hard earned name,” he said.
