The prestigious Mace Club of Nigeria, has elected new set of executives with Mace (Dr.) Aliu Ajani Odunmbaku, emerging as the 12th President of the Club, at event held in the ancient city of Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.

Penpushing reports that the Club founded on 1st April, 1984 in Abeokuta, began as a noble vision of fifteen vibrant young men with an average age of 23, who were united by a common desire for friendship, mutual support, leadership development and community impact.

The club from humble beginning has steadily grown in stature, reputation and influence to become one of the most respected and prestigious social clubs in Nigeria, while in its early years, meetings of the Club were held in the apartments of members, reflecting the modest but passionate spirit with which the founders nurtured the organization.

Penpushing further reports that as the Club expanded, its meetings later moved to notable venues such as Starlight Hotel and Frontline Hotel, Onikolobo, Abeokuta, before achieving a remarkable milestone with the establishment of its permanent Club House at Mace Avenue, beside the State High Court, Kobade, Abeokuta, on February 21, 2010.

The record has it that this development marked a new era of stability, pride and institutional strength for the Club, however, at the well attended elections which drew members from within and outside Abeokuta was anchored by a 3-member Mace Electoral Commission headed by Mace Soji Sogbolu as its Chairman and Maces Babatunde Oduwaiye and Temitope Lasilo as members.

Penpushing also reports that the emergence of Odunmbaku, as President followed a keenly contested, but peaceful and transparent election, reflecting the Club’s long-standing culture of democracy, fairness and respect for its constitution.

The President, a distinguished Chief Lecturer in the Department of Marketing at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, is widely admired for his intellectual depth, exemplary leadership qualities, humility and dedication to service.

Penpushing reports that his academic achievements, administrative competence and strong interpersonal skills have earned him immense respect within and beyond the academic community.

The members of the Club have expressed great confidence that his wealth of experience in management and administration will usher in a new era of growth, unity and progressive development for the Mace Club of Nigeria.

Penpushing further reports that other executive officers elected include Mace Toyin Obatosin as Vice President, Mace Engr. Jide Adebayo as General Secretary and Mace Edward Lasilo as the Club’s Director of Socials and Public Relations.

The President in his acceptance speech after his victory, thanked God and expressed profound gratitude for the grace and opportunity to serve, equally appreciated all members of the Club for the confidence and trust reposed in him and the newly elected executive team.

Penpushing also reports that he assured members that his administration would prioritize unity, transparency, inclusiveness and strict adherence to the Club’s constitution and established rules.

The President emphasized his commitment to running an open-door policy, where every member’s voice would be valued and respected, and pledged to leverage his vast experience in leadership, management and administration to strengthen the institutional structure of the Club, promote its noble ideals, enhance member engagement and elevate the reputation of the Mace Club of Nigeria to even greater prominence.

Penpushing reports that members of the Club have equally showered encomiums on the new President and his Executive Council, describing them as men of honour, integrity and proven capacity, whose leadership will undoubtedly consolidate the achievements of past administrations while charting new paths for progress and excellence.

The members prayed that God will give the executive the wisdom and divine guidance to take the club to greater accomplishments, as well as peaceful and impactful tenure and filled with remarkable achievements that will further strengthen the legacy of the club.
