The controversial Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike has declared that Senator Dino Melaye, who is also a known controversial figure of lacking quality to be a governor of Kogi State, as he(Melaye) is said to be showing interest in the governorship poll scheduled to hold in November 11, 2023.

Penpushing reports that Wike made the declaration during a media chat on Tuesday, emphasisng that as far as he is concern any attempt by People Democratic Party(PDP) to produce Melaye for the race will end up a still birth

The known outspoken Governor stressed that Melaye does not have what it takes to be a governor, adding that giving the governorship ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State to Dino Melaye is “dead on arrival

Penpushing further reports that Wike said he was aware of the effort by the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) to manipulate delegate lists in Kogi State to favour adding that the party  would be doomed if it gives the governorship ticket of Melaye.

The outgoing Rivers State Governor declared that if such happened, he vowed not to campaign for Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), adding that Melaye is better known as television comedian, and governance is not a child play

“For Christ sake, Dino does not have what it takes to be a governor at all. It is not by coming to act in drama on television. We are talking about governance of a state, we are not talking about drama for Christ sake’, Wike said.

“Why are you trying to manipulate the list in favour of one aspirant? When you give Dino that ticket, you know he won’t win in Kogi State. Why would Kogi people say they would vote for a candidate like Dino? Are we joking?”  “Does it mean now that if the PDP wants to win the election, it would give the ticket to Dino and you say tomorrow that you were rigged when you have already killed yourself?”Wike said.

Penpushing also reports that Wike recalled how former president of the Nigerian Senate brought Dr Bukola Saraki brought Melaye to him when he contested for governorship in 2019, but declined to disclose what transpired at the meeting.

The Governor, however, challenged Melaye, a former Senator from Kogi State and the spokesperson of Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council (PDP PCC) to come out first before he takes another step on the matter
