The Governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ogun State, Iyabo Obasanjo has congratulated Senator Solomon Adeola following his emergence as the party consensus candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Penpushing reports that Obasanjo after the pronouncement of Adeola as the party flagbearer said in a statement that she thanked the state and national leaders of the ruling party for the opportunity given her to participate in the nomination process, and hold no grudges with anybody
‘At the Ogun APC Caucus meeting held today, April 13, 2026, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) was announced as the consensus candidate of our party for the 2027 gubernatorial election. I congratulate him and wish him every success. I also thank the state and national leaders of our great party for the opportunity to participate in the nomination process.
Penpushing further reports Obasanjo who exhibited her proactive skills and determination towards efforts in getting the party ticket having made consultations to every part of the state, said following the choice of Adeola by the party, she has suspended her governorship aspiration
