The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has approved the posting of Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, as the new Commissioner of Police for Kano State Command, said to be aligned with the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to enhancing security and ensuring effective policing in the state.
Penpushing reports that the Force Public Relations Officer Muyiwa Adejobi made this known in a statement adding that Bakori has been charged to bring his vast knowledge and expertise to bear in ensuring the safety and security of residents of Kano State.
The statement emphasised the he is expected to consolidate on the achievements of his predecessor, strengthen community policing initiatives, and foster collaboration with relevant stakeholders to enhance public trust and security.
Penpushing further reports that Adejobi in the statement stated that the Nigeria Police Force called on the people of Kano State to support the new Commissioner of Police in the discharge of his duties.
The new Police boss is said to be a highly experienced and dedicated officer, has served in various operational, investigative, and administrative capacities, including as a Principal Staff Officer to the Inspector-General of Police.
Penpushing also reports that the statement stated that he had equally served as Commissioner of Police in the Homicide Section of the Force Criminal Investigation Department, stressing that his extensive experience in operations, intelligence, and security management makes him well-suited to lead the Kano State Command.
