The former Governor of Ogun State Ibikunle Amosun has made shocking revelation surrounding his birth disclosing that he spent three and half years in his mother’s womb before his delivery, and was already written off by his father, who earlier arranged petrol to set him ablaze.

Penpushing reports that Amosun made the disclosure at the 25-year remembrance ceremony of his late mother, Alhaja Rafatu Sanusi-Abiodun held at the family residence located in Ita-Eko area of Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.

‘I spent three and a half years in my mother’s womb. My mother’s pregnancy was a mystery to many, as the pregnancy appeared and disappeared over the prolonged three-and-a-half-year period. But I am today alive and well’, he explained.

Penpushing further reports that the two-time Governor and also two-time Senator representing Ogun Central District of Ogun State at the National Assembly, added that his father did not believe his survival after birth and already arranged petrol to set him ablaze if he eventually die after birth

‘My father who was not present at the time, even arranged for fuel to be bought, to burn my body if I did not survive the birth. Let me allow my elder brother to also complete the story, because he was a witness to it’, Amosun stated.

Penpushing also reports that the elder brother, Alhaji Abidoye Amosun while corroborating the former Governor’s account added that, three days to the naming ceremony their father who was not around sent traditional naming gift along with a letter.

‘Three days before the naming ceremony, we went to get the package sent by our father, and when we open it, we saw the names and a ram for the ceremony. The letter revealed the name chosen for the new born as Muhammad, Ikleel, Oyelaja, Oluwatoyin, Ibikunle, Duro-Orike, Ku Koriya Amosun’, he explained

‘Our father warned all of us not to envy him, rather, we should love him and be honest with him, so that we can benefit immensely from him. I can tell you that anytime we need to do anything in the family, he will finance more than half, leaving a little for us to contribute. He has been a blessing for us’, he added

Penpushing reports that the former governor speaking further emphasized importance need to honour parents after death, stressing that when they are gone the best gift to offer them is prayer, explaining that, that was the essence of the 25-year remembrance for his late mother

‘Beyond respecting our parents, when they are no longer around, the best gift we can offer them is prayer. Since, this is a significant 25 years milestone, we decided to make it slightly more elaborate, not a celebration, but a gathering to seek Allah’s forgiveness on her behalf’ he stated
