The Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has declared and assured that he is done with coming late to functions, as he arrived earlier before commencement of special church service of armed forces Remembrance Day held on Sunday at St Peters Cathedral Church, Ake, Abeokuta.

Penpushing reports that Abiodun made this known while speaking at the service, stating that if he had come late, the Bishop would have scolded him, adding that interestingly he arrived the church even before the Bishop who ironically came late to the service.

The Governor said he is proud of himself to have now laid to rest the lateness to functions, a statement which attracted applause and commendation from the congregation for the Governor who was also beaming with smiles.

‘I am no more coming late to functions. If I came late today,  Bishop Adekunle would have accuse me of coming late again. I even got here before the Bishop. I am proud of myself’, the Governor emphasised

Penpushing further reports that Bishop Emmanuel Adekunle in response to the Governor burst into laughter, and equally apologized to the Governor and the congregants for him (Adekunle) to have arrived late to the service.

The Bishop who is the Ogun State Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) explained his lateness was not deliberate but was as a result of another tight scheduled, adding that his wife was an advanced team for him at the church who came to time.

Penpushing also reports that Adekunle encouraged the Governor to provide more dividends of democracy to the citizens, pointing out that palliative he introduced in 2024 was commended and should equally be improved on.

‘I want to say this and acknowledge that the Governor has been doing well in providing succour to the populace. The palliative introduced last year go a long way in putting smiles on faces of the people, and this year, I want you to continue in that spirit.

‘The Governor has shown care to citizens and its commendable. You are doing well. I want him to continue in that spirit. God has shown and I foresee more gestures this new year. I see more glory, I see more blessing’, he stated
