The former Governorship aspirant of All Progressives Congress (APC), Ogun State, Hon Adekunle Akinlade has described himself as a ‘divorcee’, who after a bitter and failed marriage secured a relief in engaging in a new and fruitful marriage.
Penpushing reports that, Akinlade gave the analysis, to buttress his decision on leaving the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), to join the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), where he has been offered ticket as running mate for the governorship candidate of the party
The former member of the House of Representatives and Governorship Candidate of All Peoples Movement(APM) during the 2019 governorship race was on Saturday featuring as guest on telephone live programme ‘Governance and Politics of Fresh FM, radio station in Abeokuta.
Penpushing further reports that, Akinlade had earlier resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC), shortly after the primary of the party, alleging the party leadership of insincerity, and equally pulled out from the Governorship congress of the party
The resilience politician explained that, he took the slot of running mate in his new found love Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), not for selfish interest, as being speculated but for his genuine desire to serve, and benefit people of Ogun State.
Penpushing also reports that, Akinlade while buttressing his position explained that he had earlier served in the legislative arm of government adding that, it is his desire to serve in the executive arm of government where people’s lives can be directly impacted positively.
‘My decision to transit to the Peoples Democratic Party and consider the Deputy Governorship slot of the party is to serve and benefit the good people of Ogun State. I have served in the legislative arm of government and it is my desire to serve in the executive arm of government where people’s lives can be directly impacted positively’, he explained.
‘It is also a time for every reasonable resident of the state to team up and stop the maladministration and incompetent regime of Dapo Abiodun for the sake of our future. The insecurity and spate of cult clash in recent time under this administration has shown it is unwillingness to the development of the state’.
Penpushing reports that, Akinlade said he appreciates support of his political god father, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, who was former Governor of Ogun State, and the political family,as well as the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) leadership for their trust in him over time and pledge never to let them down for any reason.
‘I appreciate my supporters, Senator Ibikunle Amosun political family and the Peoples Democractic Party leadership for their trust in me over time and pledge never to let them down for any reason’, Akinlade emphasised.
