The Photo Editor of Guardian Newspaper, Femi Adebesin-Kuti on Friday died at Federal Medical Centre(FMC), Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, Ogun State, having been admitted for an ailment said to lasted for about two weeks.
Penpushing reports that the Photo Journalists Association of Nigeria(PJAN) made this known in a statement issued by Kola Olasupo(Chairman) and Sly Okoruwa(Secretary),lamenting that his death was a shock to the association
“We the members of Photojournalists Association of Nigeria (PJAN) regret to announce the passing away of our former Vice – Chairman, Femi Adebesin- Kuti.
Until his death, Femi Kuti was the Photo editor of Guardian Newspaper”, the statement reads.
“His death was a shock to the association as the association rally him in his last days on earth with financial support but God called him today Friday January 6th, 2023”, the statement added.
“The entire members of PJAN mourn our colleague as well as  commiserate with his family, Guardian Newspaper and Lagos NUJ.
We pray that God almighty  grant his soul eternal rest’, the association wrote.
Penpushing also reports that in a related development, Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ), Lagos State  Council in a statement by the Chairman Adeleye Ajayi said the body of journalists received demise of the ace photo journalist with great shock
“We received the sad news of the passing of our dear brother, Femi Adebesin-Kuti, Photo Editor of the Guardian Newspapers which occured  in the early hours of today with great shock. We pray that God in his infinite mercy will uphold and stand by his immediate family and friends at this trying time as we sympathize with members of the Guardian Newspapers Chapel and the entire PJAN family. May God continue to protect the rest of us and show up for us in our time of  need”, Ajayi notee
Penpushing reports that the remains of the veteran photo journalist were committed to mother earth few hours after the in Abeokuta according to Islamic rites
