A group of protesters on Saturday stormed Press Centre Iwe-Iroyin in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital to kick against the choice of Adesina Ogunsola as the Chairmanship candidate under the banner of All Progressives Congress(APC) in Obafemi-Owode local government area of the state.
Penpushing reports that the aggrieved aspirants accompanied by some stakeholders argued that there was flaw in the selection of Ogunsola , and appealed to the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun to the party executive to order for a free and fair choice of Candidate for the forthcoming poll.
‘We are not oblivious of the desperation and despicable acts of some members of the State executive to make the choice of the said Adesina Lanre Ogunsola a fait accomplish. We have no choice at the stage than to cry to the whole world having failed in all our efforts at using the internal mechanism of of our great party to call the attention to this ugly development’
Penpushing further reports that, the protesters with various placards lamented that all their efforts and cries have been ignored or blocked by what they described as evil oracles that called themselves leaders in the local government.
‘Your excellency sir, we are aware that three names were submitted to you under questionable circumstances. Nevertheless, we make bold to say that the third person on that list is a complete gentleman, an accountant and a man of impeccable character’
‘He, no doubt will be a better candidate. If for any political exigency, he is not considered, then one of the nine remaining aspirants amongst the twelve that were screened should be considered’, the protesters posited.
‘We call on you sir to ensure that Adesina Lanre Ogunsola is not field by our party, APC in this election. He is discredited and not a fit and proper person to hold any public office in a sane society. Your excellency, let us do everything to avoid litigation before, during and after this election’
