The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE)  has announced traffic rerouting inbound and outbound Abeokuta, the State Capital, as part of arrangements for inauguration parade and swearing- in of Governor Dapo Abiodun for second term in office.

Penpushing reports that Public Relations Officer of the agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi made this known in a statement adding that the ceremony is scheduled to hold on Monday, May 29, 2023 at the Moshood Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta.

‘The 2nd term inauguration parade/swearing-in ceremony of Prince (Dr) Dapo Abiodun (MFR), as governor of Ogun state, is scheduled to hold on Monday, 29th May, 2023, at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta’, Akinbiyi wrote.

Penpushing further reports that the statement explained that consequently, the general public, particularly the motoring public are notified that there will be traffic rerouting inbound and outbound the stadium axis.

The statement added that the traffic rerouting is to take effect from 7am with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) fly over bridge condoned off for road users and traffic diverted underpass, while alternative routes and parking spaces will be mapped out and supervised by security and safety officials.

Penpushing also reports that the statement disclosed that details of the rerouting stated that there will be traffic diversion at Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to the right towards Abiola-Way -Leme – Iyana/Mortuary for vehicles coming inbound Abeokuta from Sagamu/Interchange – Laderin – Okemosan axis.

The statement explained that in the same vein, all buses coming from outside Abeokuta through the Sagamu/Interchange for the inauguration parade/swearing-in ceremony will also be diverted at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to the right towards Abiola-Way – Leme Junction.

Penpushing reports that Akinbiyi said the motorists would make a U-turn to the left inbound Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) before making a right turn to the stadium through the road/gate opposite Providence Hotel.

‘There will be no access road for vehicles coming from Iyana/Mortuary towards NNPC, except those scheduled for the inauguration parade/swearing-in ceremony and they will gain access to the stadium through the road/gate opposite Providence Hotel’, the statement said.

Penpushing further reports that that the statement said traffic from Kuto inbound Moshood Abiola Stadium and Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation(NNPC) will also be diverted towards Presideential Boulevard -GTB Bank- Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN) and Ibara Baptist Church Junction to continue their journey from there.

‘Nevertheless, TRACE as well as other security and safety agencies will be available to reduce and avoid gridlock on all routes to and from the stadium, as well as strategically positioned to man all parking spaces around the stadium premises’, Akinbiyi assured.

‘While pleading with members of the public and road users for their understanding and cooperation for any inconveniences this might cause, they are assured that the strategy put in place would minimize delay, ensure effective integrated traffic management along the routes and prevent any untoward situation’, he wrote.
