The Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun on Sunday said God has removed every ‘Egyptians’ on his way following his victory from the tribunal and recent Supreme Court judgment which affirmed him as the authentic elected Governor of the state.
Penpushing reports that Abiodun made this known while speaking at the thanksgiving service to commemorate his victory at the Supreme Court, held on Sunday at St James Anglican Church, Iperu-Remo town of the state
The Governor promised that he would not allow the issue of successor distracted him from his constitutional duties in rendering good services to the residents before end of his administration in the next three and half years.
‘God has removed all Egyptians on our way. Having fought and won battle of distraction, we would not allow issue of successor to distract us. We would remain committed to good governance for the benefits of our people’, he emphasised
Penpushing further reports that Abiodun pointed out that his victory at tribunal and other courts following suit instituted by the opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its Governorship Candidate, Ladi Adebutu was a divine testament in his political journey.
The Governor emphasized that God has been with him and his team to emerge victorious at every point of challenges, stressing that his party, All Progressives Congress (APC) stands firm and remained committed to welfare of the governed.
‘It is a divine testament in our political journey. God has been with us to emerge victorious. In Ogun State APC stand firm. We have received affirmation from 10 judges. I will not let successor issue distract me in providing good governance within next three and half years we are going to serve’, he emphasized.
Penpushing also reports that Abiodun boasted that his administration having won the fight against distraction during the court trial, will start to launch various valuable projects across the state and environs.
The order of service at the thanksgiving service tagged, ‘2024 My Year of Divine Transformation’, and attended by thousands of congregants include: processional hymn, praise and worship, call to worship, creed to prayer and sermon.
Penpushing reports that notable dignitaries at the event include three former Deputy Governors of the state, Senator Gbenga Kaka, Salimot Badru, Segun Adesegun and Yetunde Onanuga, as well as traditional rulers across the state.
