The National President of Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN), Desmond Nwachukwu has narrowly escaped death in an auto crash along Abeokuta-Lagos expressway.

Penpushing reports that, Nwachukwu in company of a colleague was heading towards Lagos in his Lexus 350 car on official engagement when the incident occurred involving his car and a truck.

The President was said to be moving on the service lane on the road, when the driver of the truck on the fast lane, suddenly moved towards the service lane, and in a twinkle hit the jeep, while in the process to avoid further havoc, Nwachukwu hit heap of sand on the road.

Penpushing further reports, the jeep car lost control, summersault into a ditch with the car severely damaged, but as fate would have it, the occupants were rescued from the vehicle by other motorists and symphatizers.

The occupants were lucky that, they were rescued unhurt, but the car was said to be badly damaged, and as at the time of filing this report, efforts were ongoing to tow the vehicle from the scene.

Penpushing also reports that, when contacted, Nwachukwu confirmed the incident which occurred at about 9pm on Wednesday, adding that he miraculously escaped being killed alongside the other colleague in the crash

‘The incident occurred on the night of Wednesday 16th of March. I was driving in company of a colleague when I attempted to overtake a trailer. The trailer had earlier moved to the speed lane when the driver honked, but suddenly returned to the service lane’, he recalled.

‘In an attempt to avoid collision with it, I ran over a heap of sand on the road which made the car summersault twice before falling into the bush. We were rescued by other motorists unhurt. Our survival was an act of God. It can only be God. I will further dedicate myself to the service of God and humanity. Egbon, am very good. Thank you’, Nwachukwu said
