There was calamity recorded on Sunday at Bode market, Molete, Ibadan,Oyo State Capital following accident involving fully loaded gas tanker and motorcycle causing death of five persons and number of others sustaining injuries.
Penpushing reports that, the driver of the truck said to be coming from Idi Arere area of the town lost control and rammed into the market, killing five persons on the spot, while as at the time of filing this report corpses had being deposited in the morgue
The Oyo State Police Command Public Relations Officers , Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the sad incident in a statement made available to journalists, adding that the injured were evacuated to hospital for treatment
Penpushing further reports that, as at the time of this report, Osifeso said effort to evacuate accidented vehicles was in progress as well as investigation to ascertain identities of the those killed in the crash
The police spokesman disclosed that the situation is under control and that further development will be communicated soon, adding the collaborative efforts of the fire service successfully managed the situation to ensure there was no fire outbreak
