The College of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital has produced 136 new set of graduands on completion of their composite arms training programme which lasted for six weeks.
Penpushing reports that the passing out of the trainees was held on Thursday at the college training field, where they were able to display their skills and dexterity on how best to handle firearms in combating crime.
The trainees were selected from Ogun, Ondo, Lagos, Adamawa and Edo State with a charge on them to ensure they engage the public with humility in service delivery and should also be good ambassador of the corps wherever they find themselves
Penpushing further reports that notable dignitaries at the passing out parade include Commander Oladode Abdul of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Public Enlightenment Corps, Col, Iniobong Akpan from 35 Artillery Brigade Alamala, Abeokuta, Adelaja Ogungbem of the Federal Road Safety Corps,Oluwakayode Aina of the Amotekun Corps Ogun State and Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji,Founder Penpushing Media.
The College Commandant, Commander Olatoye Adebayo in his welcome speech congratulated the new graduands, on the successful completion of their training stressing that they should see their responsibilities in waging war against criminality.
Penpushing also reports that, he called on the officers, on the importance of portraying themselves as ambassador of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) at all time, stressing that discipline should be their watchwords
The Head of Department of Training, Commandant Sunday Folaranmi in his ow remarks noted that the passing out parade was a milestone occasion championed by the Commandant General of the corps, who he said strives tirelessly to revamp, rejig and rejuvenate the corps to greater service delivery.
Penpushing reports that he pointed out that the country is currently facing unprecedented security challenges, explaining that, this and alongside others, are the reasons for the retraining, and charged them to always showcase professionalism
‘To the gallant officers and personnel. I congratulate you for the successful completion of the very tough training that you have passed through. I charge you to showcase professionalism in your conduct wherever you are working’, he stated
‘You are charged to be ambassador of note wherever you are. Ensure that you engage the public with humility in service delivery. You have been well-trained, so be assured that you would also be well-equipped to enable you discharge your duties effectively’, Folaranmi stated
‘You should be aware that all eyes would be on you, because to whom much is given much is expected. You are assured of continued support of the Commandant General. The focus of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps is to make Nigeria safe for all and sundry, a nation to be proud of always’, he emphasized
